Katie Crim

Katie Crim is an emerging conductor recognized for her clear artistic vision, collaborative leadership, and dynamic approach to both classical and contemporary repertoire.

Katie recently completed a two-season Conducting Fellowship with the Oklahoma Chamber Symphony, where she conducted a diverse range of performances and played an integral role in artistic planning and concert design. Her commitment to living composers and innovative programming was further showcased during her time as Resident Conductor of Project 21, a contemporary music initiative, where she led numerous world premieres and collaborated closely with composers to bring new works to life with creativity and imagination.

Katie has trained extensively through national and international conducting festivals and workshops, studying with leading pedagogues in immersive settings including Chicago Summer Opera, Girls Who Conduct with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Maestri Series with the San Francisco Philharmonic, OperArezzo in Italy, and the International Conducting Institute in Zlín, Czech Republic, among other engagements.

She holds a Master of Music in Conducting from Oklahoma City University and will begin her Doctor of Musical Arts in Orchestral Conducting at the University of Wisconsin with Oriol Sans in Fall 2025.

Guided by a conducting philosophy that honors tradition while embracing bold innovation, Katie crafts programs that aim to inspire musicians, engage diverse audiences, and foster vibrant community connections through music. She is thrilled to join the Madison Gamer Symphony, eager to immerse herself in the electrifying world of video game music and to create performances that captivate longtime fans and warmly welcome newcomers to this exciting, evolving genre.
