Sam Weeks

Sam Weeks is an arts professional with a strong foundation in performance, arts education, and administration. He holds a Master’s Degree in Arts and Creative Enterprise Leadership from the Bolz Center for Arts Administration at the Wisconsin School of Business, and a BFA in Musical Theatre with a focus on acting and directing from Sam Houston State University.

With a passion for both storytelling and infrastructure, Sam brings a rare blend of creative artistry and operational excellence to every role. He currently serves as the Administrative Assistant for the Department of Spanish & Portuguese at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and previously worked as the Department Administrator for Theatre at East Texas A&M University, where he supported faculty, students, and production teams in a dynamic academic arts setting.

As an actor and educator, Sam has appeared in productions at Equity houses including Stages Repertory Theatre in Houston and Unity Theatre in Brenham, Texas. He was a company member and operations assistant at The Magik Theatre, where he founded the Teen Rep Program, creating meaningful performance opportunities for emerging artists. Expanding his reach nationally, he also worked with the education team at Seattle Children’s Theatre.

Sam also spent four years as a public school theatre educator, where he transformed his programs into award-winning theatre departments recognized for their excellence and impact by school administration, community, and through the University Interscholastic League competitions.

Currently, Sam is the Artistic Director of the Madison Theatre Guild, where he champions inclusive, community-centered storytelling and artist development. With extensive experience both onstage and behind the scenes, Sam is committed to building sustainable, engaging pathways for arts access, education, and innovation.

And just for fun—Sam grew up playing Dr. Mario and dreams of hearing it played live by MGSO someday, or maybe Animal Crossing!
