Danny Barry

Danny Barry grew up in the Chicago suburbs, discovering his passion for music after joining his elementary school’s band as a percussionist. He later went to St. Olaf College where he continued his musical career while studying under Dave Hagedorn and Eri Isomura. During his time there, he was a member of the St. Olaf Orchestra, St. Olaf Handbell Choir, the Percussion Ensemble, and served as the Percussion Section Leader of the St. Olaf Band. After graduating, he moved to Madison, WI where he continues to perform with the Madison Area Concert Handbells (MACH) and the Verona Area Concert Band.
An avid gamer his whole life, video game music has always been something Danny is passionate about. In college, he premiered his first VGM arrangement - the main theme from Mother 3, written for handbell soloist + violin - during the St. Olaf Handbell Choir's Midwest tour in 2022. He continues to work on VGM arrangements and hopes to bring an increased appreciation for video game music to classical and casual music communities alike.
